OpenHeat x MegaGood Media: Studio Apparel Photography Utah — Built for Tech-Forward Brands

OpenHeat makes smart heated apparel for people who refuse to slow down in the cold — and their content needed to show that. We brought in studio precision, real-world lifestyle photography, and a branded video campaign to give their tech-driven products the visual treatment they deserved. Here's how it came together.

The Challenge: Make the Technology Feel Real

Smart apparel sits in a tricky spot visually. The product has genuine innovation behind it — embedded heating zones, app connectivity, performance-grade materials — but none of that comes through in a flat lay. OpenHeat needed content that could explain what the product does without turning into a tech manual. And it needed to do that across Amazon listings, paid ads, and a Shopify storefront all at once.

Our creative brief had three clear targets: position OpenHeat as a premium tech-wear brand, show the heating element integration in a way that feels intuitive rather than complicated, and capture real-world usability that city commuters and outdoor-minded buyers could both see themselves in. That meant building a shoot that could deliver clean studio hero shots and location-based lifestyle content from the same day.

The Creative Strategy: Studio Precision Meets Street-Level Story

We structured the shoot in two distinct phases — each serving a different part of the buyer's journey.

Studio Photography

The studio work gave us the clean, controlled hero shots that product listings rely on. Minimal backgrounds, deliberate lighting angles designed to catch the jacket's technical details — the heating zones, the materials, the cut. These are the images that build first-impression trust on an Amazon page or a Shopify product card.

Lifestyle Photography

We moved the shoot out into Salt Lake City for the lifestyle work. The brief called for an urban, tech-forward commuter aesthetic — someone who takes their gear seriously and doesn't compromise on function or style. Real environments, natural movement, and a muted color palette that lets the product lead. This is the content that stops the scroll on social and makes a paid ad click-worthy.

Branded Video Production

The video campaign was built for motion — short-form clips optimized for Amazon product listings, paid social ads, and Shopify landing pages. Fast cuts, product in action, just enough story to communicate comfort and performance without losing the viewer. Think of it as the lifestyle photos in motion: the same aesthetic logic, applied to a 20-second format. The Deliverables: A Full Content Suite, Ready to Deploy

Every asset from this shoot was designed to work hard across multiple platforms from day one. OpenHeat left with 20+ high-resolution photos ready for product pages, paid ads, and email campaigns — plus multiple 15–30 second video clips cut for short-form platforms, and a lifestyle-focused brand video that ties the whole visual story together.

One shoot. One creative direction. Content that covers every channel they need.

Frequently Asked Questions About Apparel Photography and Branded Video

Do you shoot both photos and video in the same session?

Yes — every shoot we do is built to capture photo and video simultaneously. Same products, same creative direction, one session. You walk away with a full content suite without doubling your budget or your prep time.

Can you handle both studio and outdoor lifestyle photography for apparel brands?

Absolutely. We do both in-house. Clean studio shots for your product listings, and real-world lifestyle content shot on location — including Salt Lake City environments that work for urban, outdoor, and active wear brands.

What platforms are the video assets optimized for?

We deliver assets ready for Amazon A+ Content and listing videos, Shopify product pages, Instagram Reels, TikTok, and paid social ads. Everything is edited for the platform it will actually live on.

How do you photograph technical product features without making them look complicated?

It's about finding the right visual shorthand — a detail shot of a heating zone, a moment of motion that implies function, a lifestyle image that shows the product solving a real problem. We build a creative brief around your product's key differentiators before we ever set up a light.
